Sambar Rice
Ingredients
For Rice
- 1 cup Rice
- ½ cup Arhar Dal
- 3 cups Water
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
For Tamarind Pulp
- ½ tbsp. Tamarind
- ⅓ cup Hot Water
For Cooking Veggies
- 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
- ⅓ cup sliced onions
- 5-6 Curry Leaves
- Asafoetida
- ½ cup diced Tomatoes
- 1.5 cups chopped French Beans, Carrots, Capsicum, Brinjal, Pumpkin, Drumsticks
- 1 tbsp Everest Sambar Masala
- ½ tsp Everest Turmeric Powder
- ½ tsp Everest Kasmirilal Powder / Everest Red Chili Powder
- ½ tsp Everest Kasmirilal Powder / Everest Red Chili Powder
- ½ tsp Everest Kasmirilal Powder / Everest Red Chili Powder
- ½ tsp Everest Kasmirilal Powder / Everest Red Chili Powder
For Tempering
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 3-4 Dry Red Chillies
- 12-15 Curry Leaves
- Asafoetida
- 2-3 tsp Ghee
Instructions
- Add salt to the potatoes and set them to boil.
- Once boiled, place them in a mixing bowl and add Everest Turmeric Powder, Everest Red Chili powder, salt and chopped coriander.
- Toss them well.
- Heat a pan and add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and chilies.
- Add the potatoes and toss them.
- Add Everest Sambar Masala.
- Cook for another 5-7 mins until they turn crisp.
- Garnish it with chopped coriander and lemon juice.
